Kelly Hazel is a resident of Summerville, South Carolina.
Her work can be viewed on this website and at The Charleston
Artist Guild Gallery in downtown Charleston. She earned her
BFA from Ohio University and worked in Advertising for 10 years
before devoting herself to her children, running and painting.
While she is known for her watercolors, she also works in oil and
pastel
Her artwork concentrates on the effects of light and shadows.
In her work, form is a contradiction of exact and loosely
suggested shapes. as an avid runner, she brings her experience
of running into her paintings. The veiwers can feel the shadows
dance about them as they move through each scene. Viewers will
also be struck by the impulse to look around corners, down
streets and through trees & tall grass as they try to find what lies
beyond.
She has won numerous awards for her paintings. In 2006 her
work was chosen to represent the Flowertown Festival.
Her work will be on display for sale at the
2011 Flowertown Festival. Her booth will be
located on the Side walk about 10 booths in from the
street where the cuthburt center is located.

She was the 2006 Flowertown Festival poster design winner. Her painting was chosen to be displayed on T-shirts, billboards, poster and various other printed material.
